Fees and Funding

It is well known that the cost of legal services can be a real bar to justice.  MJD Solicitors offer real flexibility and transparency on pricing.

We have invested substantially in modern technology to reduce overhead and as a consequence pass such savings on to our clients. We operate from modern serviced offices.  We make full use of IT including voice recognition software to transcribe dictation to print and market leading legal know-how to ensure that the services that we provide are on par with much larger and expensive law firms. This however is just the start.

We will whenever possible work under a fixed, capped or discounted fee regime which provides not only certainty of cost but also value for money.

It is standard practice within the legal sector for litigation and dispute resolution work to be undertaken by using hourly rates. We recognise this unsatisfactory practice provides little comfort for clients and therefore adopt novel ways of working which prove beneficial to both our clients and ourselves. One such solution is to discount our fees by up to 60% with the balance deferred until such time that we achieve a successful resolution for you. We also work with conditional fee agreements and can arrange insurance policies to indemnify you for any disbursements or legal costs that you may become liable for should your case not succeed.

We do not undertake any publically funded (legal aid) work. We do however accept instructions from those business and individuals who have a legal expense insurance policy and are able to work within the terms of such policies.
